Prayer and Faith

Shalom Aleichem! Between January 2021 and April 2021, I personally know of 9 people who died due to covid. It was an extraordinary time when each time the phone rang at night or a WhatsApp message was received, I trembled, wondering whether it is a message of someone's death. I have been left wondering how we take life for granted. We leave homes casually and expect to come back later in the day. That walk out of the door may be the last one. I remember of a dear one who reportedly left home to go and do a covid test. It was positive and he was immediately put in an isolation ward. That morning when he left home, that was the last time he actually had any physical conversation with the family. He never returned home. This life we have is indeed on rental. The Lord will require of it some day, any day, even today. Scary thought when I look at the fact that I have mentally diarised what I have to do today -  including picking my children and dropping them home after school. Prayer is...

A Land that is Fairer Than Fair

Shalom Aleichem! Heaven is real. Life after death is real. There is every reason, scientific or otherwise, to show that earthly life is a transition to something celestial. I am not aware of any Christian doctrine suggesting that before we are born on earth, we exist in some form somewhere beyond the blue. However, almost all religions are unanimous on some form of existence after death. This is not just fantasy. It is real. I know God exists because: 1. He has revealed Himself in the Bible 2. I have seen Him in the life of my parents 3. I have heard His voice 4. I have seen Him at work in my life 5. Several other people I have great respect for have so testified 6. Conflicting religions, founded independently from each other, all testify that He exists. How and where God exists remains a mystery for me, except for the general apprehension that He dwells in Heaven. Heaven itself in the geographical context is above us, up there in the skies. I read somewhere that the stars are so far a...

A Leap of Faith!

A LEAP OF FAITH Shalom Aleichem! Faith as little as a mustard seed can create wonders. We live by faith not by sight. We believe in a life everlasting, not a life ending here on earth. We believe in investing in that life everlasting where a faithful God awaits all the ransomed. An impression has been upon me for a while to start a blog to share on various issues.  In 2016, I had attempted to create an outlet that was to deal specifically with faith based issues but I unceremoniously withdrew as I was so exposed by the Devil that I felt unworthy to proceed in that direction. The attempt to move in the direction of  social, economic, political [SEP] analyses and commentaries, which I am well versed with, was overwhelming. I remembered just how angry I was [and still are...] with a number of developments at national, regional and international level. SEP merited my contribution  -  while at the same time expecting not to actively engage in any social or political activ...
